Moel y Gaer Hillfort Llantysilio Print

Nestled on the Llantysilio Mountains lies a small hillfort

Reconstruction

Moel y Gaer Llantysilio was built around 2,500 years ago in the Iron Age.

It can be found nestled between the peaks of Moel Morfydd and Moel Gamelin.

The hillfort is surrounded by one bank and ditch and encloses an area of just one hectare.

This hillfort may be small, but the remains of roundhouses have been found and the enclosure commands magnificent views over the surrounding valleys.

Getting there

You can leave your car opposite Capel Hebron in Rhewl. Rhewl is located on the B5103 between Pentrefelin (on the A542 Horseshoe Pass road, near Llangollen) and Glyndyfrdwy in the Dee Valley.
