Spring 2010 Newsletter Print
Welcome to the Spring Heather and Hillforts newsletter 2010.

Not only are we now in our third year of the Heather and Hillforts Project, but 2010 is a year full of celebrations across Denbighshire and Flintshire.

This summer we celebrate 25 years of the Clwydian Range’s designation as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, an area protected for its magnificent landscape and heritage since 1985.

In October we will be celebrating Moel Famau’s Jubilee Tower’s 200th Anniversary! In 1810, the foundation stone for the iconic monument was laid to celebrate King George III’s Golden Jubilee.

Two hundred years on, Moel Famau and the Jubilee Tower welcome over 200,000 visitors every year and provide an iconic backdrop for the lives of the people of Flintshire and Denbighshire.

So read on to find out more about what we’ve been up to and what’s coming up this year in the Heather and Hillforts Project, with celebrations, excavations and explorations…
